Woojin Construction Co., Ltd - Wind power plant
Woojin Construction Co., Ltd from South Korea is investing over 4.9 trillion VND (approximately 247.6 million USD) in the second phase of the RoK-Tra Vinh wind power plant. This phase, located in Truong Long Hoa commune, Duyen Hai town within Tra Vinh province in the Mekong Delta, will feature a 96-megawatt capacity and cover nearly 2,500 hectares of land and water. It will include 48 wind turbines expected to produce over 332,438 MWh of electricity annually.
The project's goal is to support the national power grid and enhance energy security for both the province and surrounding areas. The first phase of the plant, which began construction on February 24, is valued at 130 million USD and will have a capacity of 48 megawatts, generating more than 173,000 MWh per year upon completion next February.
Tran Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has approved a wind power development plan for Tra Vinh province through 2020, with a future goal of achieving 634 million kWh of wind power output by 2020. The province is planning six wind power projects in coastal areas, including three in Truong Long Hoa commune, two in Hiep Thanh commune, and one in Dong Hai commune.
